Yes, a referral is required from your doctor or specialist. This allows us to claim the rebate amount back for you via Medicare after your consultation. If you do not have a referral, the rebate amount from Medicare cannot be claimed. Referral from a GP covers you for 12 months. Referral from a specialist covers you for 3 months.

Epworth Hospital Richmond parking is available on site. The only entrance to the public car park is at 89 Bridge Road Richmond. Fees apply.

Private Health insurance applies only when you are admitted to a hospital, whether it be for a day case or extended admissions. It cannot be used to make a claim when seeing a specialist for consultation in the private rooms.

At your consultation, the proposed surgery will be outlined and discussed in detail. A date for surgery is arranged. Hospital paperwork and all instructions and information will be given to you.

Generally, there is a ‘GAP’ fee – out of Pocket cost charged for all surgical procedures. This is well below the AMA recommended fee. GAP fee will be advised to you at the time of your consultation and discussion of surgery with Mr Choi.

Yes, a medical certificate for attendance for an appointment, for a surgical procedure and the period of recovery can be arranged.
