Specialist Liver, Pancreas, Gallbladder, Upper Gastrointestinal (GI) & General Surgeon
Mr Julian Choi is a specialist Hepato, Pancreatico, Biliary (HPB) & Upper GI surgeon, who has an interest in the diagnosis and surgery of benign and malignant conditions of the liver, pancreas, gallbladder and stomach. He also performs a wide range of ROBOTIC Liver, Pancreas, Biliary/Gallbladder, Upper GI & General Surgery.
After graduating from the University of Melbourne Medical School in 1998, he completed his general surgery training at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and a further 3 years of fellowship specialised training in HPB & Upper GI surgery in Australia and overseas. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons - FRACS in 2007. Julian works at Epworth Richmond and is a consultant surgeon at Western Health. He is a senior lecturer (honorary) at the University of Melbourne in his expert fields.
Julian is actively involved in clinical research in the area of pancreas and liver surgery and is a principal investigator on a major national trial into pancreatic cancer. Julian was also delighted to be awarded the Costello Family Foundation Grant and the Jo Curzon-Siggers Pancreatic Cancer Grant, enabling further research, study and innovation into pancreatic and liver surgery, including state of the art Robotic surgery.
